25 Days of Israel: Day 9 - Trust

This is Day 9 in a series of posts I have chosen to write during the time of my current - and last, for a while - trip to Israel in March 2023. My experience of Israel in these last 7 years of my residence has been vivid, inspiring, nerve wracking, debilitating, and wholly, precisely, profoundly the medicine I've needed. Words will not (yet) fully express the treasures I've received from my presence here, but I believe the commitment, challenge, and confidence of these 25 Days of Israel are a beautiful homage to their glory in my life.

Trust

I trust when I’m not looking

I trust when I’m far away

I trust when I keep moving

My brightest from day to day

I trust when I am sleeping

I trust when I’m awake

I trust I open up the door,

Where everything’s at stake

I trust when I am golden,

When everything’s sublime.

I also trust when life is dark,

When trusting’s my only crime

I trust because I’m worth it

I trust because I can

I trust because it is my time

To build a new promised land

I trust where I am holy

I trust like it’s an art

I trust where I come out to play

I trust with all my heart
